Parkiteer Secure Bike Parking Facility Member Guidelines and Conditions of Use
- The Department of Transport and Planning, and Public Transport Victoria provide Parkiteer Secure Bike Parking Facilities free of charge at designated train stations and bus interchanges. These facilities are managed by Bicycle Victoria Incorporated (Bicycle Network).
- Parkiteer facilities are available 24/7. Members have access to their registered Parkiteer facility two business days after registration, via:
- Physical Parkiteer access card (posted)
- Mobile credentials verification on the Parkiteer Passport mobile application (emailed)
- Remote access by calling Bicycle Network
- Remote access may be granted if the caller provides two or more of the required verification details as requested by Bicycle Network and its appointed partners.
- Parkiteer members will be given access to one Parkiteer location upon registration. Members may contact Bicycle Network to request an additional location or change to existing location.
- Member personal details will be secured by Bicycle Network via Gallagher Security.
- Bicycle Network may, by law, be required to provide law enforcement agencies with selected member registration details if requested.
- Members agree that all personal information provided to Bicycle Network is true and correct. Identification verification is achieved through a unique code sent via text. Members agree that providing false information is a crime and membership may be cancelled as a result. Members must notify Bicycle Network of any changes to their personal contact details via email or through the Parkiteer app.
- Bicycle Network takes pride in maintaining the facilities to the best standards possible.
- Door(s) to Parkiteer facilities must not be wedged or held open. Members are responsible for ensuring the door is closed and locked securely after exiting the facility.
- Members will notify Bicycle Network of any safety or security concerns with any Parkiteer facility.
- Bike parking spaces in Parkiteer facilities are provided to all members on a first come, first served basis.
- Only bicycles are permitted to be parked within a Parkiteer facility. This does not include scooters, tricycles (trikes) and motorcycles.
- Members are responsible for the using Parkiteer facilities safely and with respect for others property housed inside the facility.
- Members must not park their bike in a way that impedes or obstructs the safe movement in, out or around the facility for other members.
- Members must not keep any other equipment or dangerous goods inside Parkiteer facilities. Bicycle Network reserves the right to remove these items.
- Only registered members may use Parkiteer facilities. Members must not provide unregistered individual access to any facility.
- Bicycle Network and its appointed partners reserve the right to enter a Parkiteer facility at any time for purposes including, but not limited to, inspecting the facility’s contents, auditing the facility, scheduled cleaning or required maintenance.
- Members must report any lost or stolen Parkiteer access cards to Bicycle Network as soon as possible.
- Replacement Parkiteer access cards can be ordered at parkiteer.com.au for a $15 administrative fee.
- Bicycle Network recommends members securely lock their bike when using a Parkiteer facility. Bicycle Network recommends D-locks.
- Bicycle Network reserves the right to suspend Parkiteer membership (de-activate swipe card or mobile credential) if members have not utilised the service for more than 12 months.
- Members agree that use of the Parkiteer facility is at their own risk. Bicycle Network, the Department of Transport and Planning, and Public Transport Victoria are not liable for any loss, damage or theft.
- Members will not make any claims against Bicycle Network, the Department of Transport and Planning or Public Transport Victoria for any loss, damage, or theft of their property whilst inside a Parkiteer facility.
- Parkiteer facilities are not intended for long-term bike storage. Bikes (and any other equipment) should not be left in a Parkiteer facility for more than 5 days. Bicycle Network will tag bikes that appear to be abandoned. Members will have one month to retrieve their bike before it is moved to a safe location for 30 days. Thereafter, it will be disposed of permanently.
- Bicycle Network reserves the right to close a facility to conduct urgent maintenance. Bicycle Network will endeavour to notify affected members. If required, bikes in a closed facility may be removed and stored securely by Bicycle Network or its partners.
- Bicycle Network reserves the right to refuse entry to any Parkiteer facility and forfeit any bond monies (if applicable) if these terms and conditions are not complied with.
- Bicycle Network reserves the right to review these Terms & Conditions at any time.
