1. Lock the frame of your bike to a bike hoop. Position the lock through the front wheel and frame.
  2. Do not lock by the wheels only due to its ease of removal, resulting in the offender taking the rest of the bike.
  3. Make sure the lock is tight on the bike, making it harder to break. We recommend using a good quality D-Lock.
  4. Remove valuable components such as lights, bike computers etc.
  5. Photograph identifying features of your bike to prove that it’s yours. Record its serial number.
  6. Register your bike with Bike Vault. Websites such as this routinely check your details against bike recovered by the authorities and suspected stolen bikes listed on used bike marketplaces such as eBay and Gumtree.
